Template Management
This page is part of the "Template Management" module of the EngageLab NewSMS platform. Here, you can create, edit, manage, and preview SMS templates to ensure compliance and efficiency while meeting the needs of various business scenarios. Below is a detailed guide to the main functional areas, field descriptions, and operational processes.
Template List
Filters and Search
Fuzzy Search
- Quickly search templates by entering keywords such as template name, template ID, or signature name.
Header Filters
- Filter templates by SMS type or approval status using multi-select dropdown menus.
Time Filter
- Filter templates based on their last updated time.
Combined Filters
- Apply multiple conditions simultaneously for real-time results, improving search efficiency.
Field Descriptions
The template list displays key information for all created templates in a table format:
Field | Description |

Template Name | The business name of the template, supporting up to 30 characters. |
Template ID | A unique identifier automatically generated by the system. Hover to copy. |
Approval Status | The current approval status, including "Under Review," "Approved," and "Rejected." |
SMS Type | The type of SMS, such as "Marketing" or "Notification." Supports multi-select filtering. |
Signature Name | The SMS signature used in the template, allowing quick association with signature management. |
Last Updated | The last time the template was updated. |
Actions | Includes "Edit" and "Delete" options. Editing redirects to the template editing page, while deletion requires confirmation. |
Template ID
- Automatically generated by the system and unique within the platform, used for backend management and customer support communication.
- Hover over the ID to display a "Copy" button for quick copying.
Template Approval
- Templates must be submitted for approval after creation or editing. Only approved templates can be used for SMS sending.
- Approval progress is displayed in the "Approval Status" column:
- Under Review: The template is being reviewed.
- Approved: The template is ready for SMS sending.
- Rejected: Displays the reason for rejection, requiring modifications and resubmission.

Editing Templates
- Supports editing template name, type, content, and primary sending countries.
- The Template ID is non-editable and used for platform identification.
- The content editing area provides real-time previews to confirm changes.
Deleting Templates
- Deletion requires confirmation to prevent accidental removal.
- Deleted templates cannot be recovered, but previously sent records will remain unaffected.
Creating a Template
Basic Information
Template Name
- Customizable template name, up to 30 characters, for distinguishing and managing different SMS templates.
SMS Type
- Supports only "Notification" or "Marketing" types:
- Notification: For service reminders, logistics updates, etc.
- Marketing: For promotional or campaign-related SMS.
- For "Verification Code" SMS, use the EngageLab OTP Product.
- Future updates will include specific content standards and validation rules based on the type.

Message Content
- The editing area provides a real-time preview of the SMS content on the right side of the page, allowing you to confirm formatting and length.
- Character count is displayed in real-time, helping you control content length and the number of SMS segments.
Adding a Signature
- Select an approved signature to add to the SMS body, either at the beginning or end of the message.
- If no signature is created or approved, please visit the Signature Management page to resolve this first.
Only approved signatures can be added.
Primary Sending Countries
- Select up to 5 target countries/regions. The platform will configure the most optimal sending channels for these regions.
- The actual sending countries/regions are determined by the recipient phone numbers during SMS sending and are not restricted by this setting.
- Selecting multiple target countries helps the platform perform compliance checks and improve sending speed.
Preview
While editing SMS content, the right side of the page provides a real-time preview of the message in a mobile SMS format. If the content exceeds the length of a single SMS, the preview window will automatically split the content into multiple segments, helping you understand segmentation and its impact on billing.
Note: When delivered to the user's phone, all content will appear as a single SMS.
Character Count
The system includes a built-in character count feature, allowing you to monitor the number of characters, SMS segments, and compliance in real-time. Clicking the character count button opens a detailed statistics popup, displaying the total number of parsed characters, the number of billable SMS segments, and other key information. This helps you optimize content and control costs.
